How
do I start planning my trip?

is to work out exactly what you want from your vacation. Check out
the Sample Programs to get some
ideas as to whether you would like to enjoy Thailand’s heritage,
the natural surroundings of the country, adventurous expeditions
or cultural discovery. Most likely you will want a bit of a mixture
of all of these.
2. Look through our Special Interests
section to see if there is something that you wish to add to
your itinerary which is of special interest to you.

will prefer the destination of Chiang

are only limited by your imagination.

Are
there any health and safety issues I should know about before traveling
to Thailand?
There are a couple of vaccination injections required before you
travel. These can vary according to your destination choice. Your
General Practitioner should advise you of these. Obviously, the
change in diet may have some effect on you but generally, the food
is clean and delicious. We do prepare our clients with a comprehensive
list of medical supplies to pack. However, this same list could
be used for visiting almost any country. Once in Thailand, it is
important that you only drink bottled water and don’t forget your
sunscreen because it does get hot. Apart from that, there are not
any extra precautions you need to take.
As far as safety is concerned, you are visiting a politically stable
country with a relatively low crime rate. But as with any country,
you will always get your pick pockets and thieves. To be on the
safe side, take copies of all your travel documents before you travel
and leave them with a friend or relative. Also, leave behind your
expensive jewelry and don’t carry all your money together in the
same place.

What
are Thai people like?
Thai people are very much happy go lucky characters. If
you ask anyone who has been to Thailand what it was that they liked
most about the country, the answer is usually the people. Thai’s
are polite, respectful and conservative, with a reputation for smiling
a lot. They are a warm, welcoming, hospitable people. They take
great pleasure in any foreigner who displays an interest in Thai
culture, heritage and their way of life. The Thai people who you
will meet along your journey will grab the opportunity to practice
their English with you. You will notice quickly that the Thais have
a great sense of humor and have infectious laughs.
Oh, and their whole attitude to life can be summed up in one phrase,
which you will hear a lot - “Mai Pen Rai”. This means “Never Mind”.
Thais are the greatest of pacifists.
Make sure that on your journey you interact with as many local Thais
as you can. They are great company, have fascinating stories, will
really make you laugh and educate you as to the cultures and traditions
of Thailand.

Can
you create a tour program which offers both luxury and a truly authentic
Thai experience?
Our travel consultants are experts in doing just that. We think
that it is important for visitors to Thailand to experience the
local lifestyle in a variety of ways. It’s really a question of
letting us know just how authentic you wish your experience to be.
After exploring the waterfalls, rainforests and river rapids by
day, would you prefer to stay overnight with a local hill tribe
community in their village, learning about life from their perspective,
their culture and their work? Or would you prefer to snuggle up
in an elegant, cosy log cabin perched on a mountainside overnight?
It’s really up to you what you want. You’ll see from browsing through
our website that the possibilities really are endless. We offer
an extensive number of ‘off the beaten track’ tours, from the tea
collecting home stay program in the mountains of Mae
Kampong to an overnight trekking program at Umphang
district, in the north. It is our travel consultant’s touch of magical
creativity which gets the balance just right to make you journey
in Thailand the holiday of your dreams.

How
can I support local communities in my chosen destinations?
We have cultivated healthy and respectful relationships
with local communities through out Thailand. Our visits to the villages
and towns provide local people with sustainable extra income. Window
of Thailand are in an ideal position to be able to educate travelers
as to the best way of supporting local projects. One such project
is the government backed “One Tambon – One Product”, where each
village or “Tambon” concentrates on the production and manufacturing
of one specific product, which they specialize in. So whilst on
your travels, if you see the OTOP logo, you know that buying that
product will help that community as a whole. If you choose to visit
The Elephant Conservation Centre
in Lampang, the cost will go towards The Elephant Conservation Foundation
which helps look after sick and old elephants.
